Vaccine shipments

Vaccine administration speed

According to the Ministry of Health, 29,250 doses were sent to the five coordination centres in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys on January 5. Since by the end of 2020 almost 9,742 doses were administered, this would mean that almost the entire second shipment (more than 10,000 doses) remained unused for a week.

Future shipments

Every Monday until March 29, Pfizer/BioNTech was planning to deliver no fewer than 20,000 doses to Lithuania. However, a 4-week 50% reduction in shipment reduced was announced in January.

In total, Lithuania has ordered around 9 million doses. Here is the current breakdown by supplier:

  • AstraZeneca: 1.86 million
  • BioNTech/Pfizer: 1.856 million
  • Sanofi Pasteur/GSK: 1.5 million
  • CureVac: 1.38 million
  • Janssen Pharmaceutica: 700,000
  • Novavax: 616,000
  • Moderna: 506,000
